Otridon is a water technology company in Turin. Our smart water meters are engineered by our own team, from housing to firmware, and we run the platform that reads them. Each one is sealed and calibrated on our own line and certified before it ships, with every component and test result recorded against its serial for life. We work with utilities, municipalities and large sites as their technical partner, from choosing the right meter to running the network, so that every drop of water is visible, measurable and manageable.

This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and what rights you have. It is written under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR") and the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003).

1. Who we are

OTRIDON is a startup being set up in Turin, Italy. It is not yet a registered company. This site is run by the OTRIDON founding team. Once the company is registered, it will take over this site and this policy will name it. For any question about your data, or to use any of your rights, write to us at the address shown by .

2. What we collect

When you write to us through the contact form: your name, surname and email address and, if you give them, your company or organization and the description of your request.
When you email us: your address and whatever you choose to tell us.
When you visit the site: the server that delivers the pages records technical data in its logs: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and your browser and operating system.
When you fill in the contact form: the form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA (the "I'm not a robot" box), which loads only once you start filling in the form. Google then receives your IP address and data about your browser, device and how you use the box, to tell people from automated programs.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis

To answer your request and, if you wish, prepare an offer: the steps you ask for before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us (Art. 6(1)(f)).
To run the site safely and find faults or attacks, through the server logs: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
To keep spam out of the contact form, through Google reCAPTCHA: your consent, which you give by starting to fill in the form, which names reCAPTCHA and links to this policy (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by not using the form and writing to us by email instead.
To meet legal obligations, for example tax and accounting rules once a contract exists (Art. 6(1)(c)).

Giving us your data is your choice. Without your name, surname and email address, however, we cannot reply to you.

4. Who receives your data

The providers that help us run the site and our email: our hosting provider and our email provider. They act as data processors under a contract with us (Art. 28 GDPR) and may use the data only on our instructions. If you use the contact form, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) also receives the data described above for reCAPTCHA, under Google's own terms and privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We do not sell your data or share it for anyone else's marketing.

5. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Where a provider processes data outside the EEA, we make sure the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision of the European Commission or by the Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 45 and 46 GDPR). Google may process reCAPTCHA data in the United States; Google LLC takes part in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 covers.

6. How long we keep it

Requests and emails: up to 24 months after our last exchange.
If the exchange leads to a contract: for as long as the law requires, usually ten years for accounting records (Art. 2220 of the Italian Civil Code).
Server logs: up to 30 days, longer only when needed to investigate a security incident.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you have given (Art. 15 to 22 GDPR). Write to us and we will answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or to the authority where you live or work.

8. Children

This site is meant for businesses and public bodies. It is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.

These terms govern your use of this website. The site is run by the founding team of OTRIDON, a startup being set up in Turin, Italy, which is not yet a registered company. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What the site is for

The site presents OTRIDON and the smart water meters and platform we are developing. They are not yet on sale. Its content is general information about our plans. It is not an offer, and it does not create a contract. Specifications, features, dates such as the launch date, and availability can change without notice. Supplying meters and access to the platform will be governed by separate written agreements.

2. Intellectual property

The OTRIDON name and logo, the texts, drawings, animations and code of this site belong to the OTRIDON team or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view the site, share links to it, and print or save pages for your own non-commercial use. Any other copying, reuse or adaptation needs our written permission.

3. Using the site properly

You agree not to:

try to break into, overload or disrupt the site or the systems behind it;
copy its content in bulk by automated means;
send unlawful, offensive or misleading content through its forms;
use the site in any way that breaks the law.

4. Links to other sites

Where the site links to other websites, we do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

5. Availability

We work to keep the site available and correct, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, free of errors or up to date. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it.

6. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for wilful misconduct or gross negligence (Art. 1229 of the Italian Civil Code), or your rights as a consumer.

7. Law and courts

These terms are governed by Italian law. Disputes go to the courts of Turin, except where the law gives a consumer the right to go to the courts of the place where they live.

Cookie policy

This policy explains what this website stores on your device. It follows the ePrivacy rules (Art. 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code) and the Italian data protection authority's guidelines on cookies of 10 June 2021.

1. One technical cookie, no tracking, and Google reCAPTCHA in the form

We use one technical cookie, otridon_lang, which remembers the language you chose. We do not use analytics, advertising, social media or other tracking tools.

The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA. It is not loaded with the page: it loads only once you start filling in the form, which names reCAPTCHA and links to the privacy policy. Google then sets its own cookie, described below. That is why the site shows no cookie banner: nothing beyond the technical settings is stored until you choose to use the form.

2. What the site keeps on your device

To work as you expect, the site keeps three small technical settings: one cookie and two entries in your browser's own storage. They are not used to identify you and are not shared with anyone.

Only if you use the contact form, Google sets this cookie on google.com for reCAPTCHA (and, if you are signed in to a Google account, Google's own account cookies come into play too):

3. How to control what is stored

You can see and delete the data a site keeps in your browser's settings, usually under privacy or site data. If you delete it, the site will simply go back to your browser's language, or English, and to light mode.
